For the sixth year in a row, Kaiser Permanente is among the top-rated plans in every state we serve and the District of Columbia, according to the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). Of the 418 commercial health plans rated by the NCQA, we had 1 of only 3 plans in the nation to receive a 5 out of 5 rating — the highest possible rating for quality and service.4
Highest-rated Medicare health plans in every state we serve — 6 years in a row
For the sixth year in a row, Kaiser Permanente has the highest-rated Medicare health plans in every state we serve and the District of Columbia, according to the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). Of the 400 Medicare health plans rated by the NCQA, we had 1 of only 2 plans in the nation to receive a 5 out of 5 rating — the highest possible rating for quality and service.5
Leading California in 78 effectiveness-of-care measures
In 2023, Kaiser Permanente led the state as the top performer in 78 HEDIS® (Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set) effectiveness-of-care measures — the most of any health plan.6
Number one health plan in America
Kaiser Permanente took the top spot in Insure.com’s list of best health plans of 2024. The rankings are based on the National Committee for Quality Assurance’s annual health plan ratings as well as member surveys — and Kaiser Permanente was number one overall.7
Top-rated quality medical care — 15 years in a row
For the 15th year in a row, Kaiser Permanente plans received the top scores for clinical quality on the California Office of the Patient Advocate’s Health Care Quality Report Card.8
Care coast to coast - and around the world
If you ever need emergency or urgent care, you’re covered worldwide—anytime, anywhere.9 When you travel across the country you can get emergency or urgent care at many locations outside Kaiser Permanente states, you’ll only pay your copay or coinsurance —no need to file a claim.10 You’re always covered for care in any Kaiser Permanente region. Plus, you have coverage for certain outpatient follow-up care outside of Kaiser Permanente service areas through the PSHB travel benefit.
